Our commitment
Southwest Dallas News aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the public site. We use semantic HTML, visible focus states, skip links, labeled forms, and sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes.
How we build for keyboard, screen-reader, and mobile readers — and how to report a barrier.
Southwest Dallas News aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the public site. We use semantic HTML, visible focus states, skip links, labeled forms, and sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes.
Keyboard navigation for primary flows, screen-reader labels on interactive controls, reduced-motion-friendly animations, resizable text without broken layouts, and per-route page titles for orientation.
Some third-party source pages linked from briefs may not meet the same standards. Interactive maps use SVG pins with text alternatives. We are continuing to improve tap-target size on mobile chips and nested controls in dense story lists.
If you hit a barrier reading or using the site, tell us what page and what you were trying to do. We respond to accessibility reports through the same corrections channel.
